Use Case Description

  • Fresenius Kabi Oncology is an MNC producing cancer drugs . This project was for their Indian entity .
  • The requirement was to get actual cost of production, Budgeting and planning, Management reporting enabling them to measure profitability of Production unit and marketing unit separately.

Solution Brief

  • Scope was to set up Standard / actual costing system at Batch level .
  • Challenge was to implement actual costing on an already live system . Since requirement was to have actual costing at batch level , activation of batch valuation on live system was an uphill task.
  • Calculating Budgeted COP – Cost of production and performing revenue planning was also a part of scope .

Outcomes

  • They are now able to calculate budgeted Cost of production from system and adopt this for their annual planning .
  • They can now measure profitability of manufacturing plant based on production efficiencies and marketing unit profitability based on sales commitment Vs actual achievement.
  • Customer can get a report comparing budgeted Vs. Actual performance.
